Day 25 - Hartlepool to Newcastle.
Safely tied up in Royal Quays marina, North Shields. Big crunch against the wall in the lock, I'll take photos tomorrow. It's not all plain sailing.
I know which one you'd rather be on.

Have to start practising your Geordie accent. Call all females 'pet' and you go to 'toon', not town.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember Auf Wiedersehn Pet; about the 3 Geordie brickies who go to Germany to work. So funny.
Where did the cooker come from Brendan. What's happening with everyone's cookers? They're all packing up.
I suppose HMS . Trincomalee a replica. Is it a looks like a clipper? Transporting all that lovely tea to us.
I'm readinga book by Tony Horwitz who is recounting Cap'n Cook's 3 big journeys in replica ships. Very interesting.
Bon voyage
!
I think Trincomalee is original from 1815. It was a warship like the Victory, but most interesting is its name, not Victory or Enterprise or Endeavour but a place in Sri Lanka.
DeleteAn old friend decided to end it all. He drank a litre of yacht varnish.
ReplyDeleteHe had a rough life , but had a good finish.

Went to Trincomalee a couple of years ago. Big harbour town with fort and ramparts. Commonwealth War cemetery too. Uncle George flew in those parts in the Canadian RAF.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good for it's age.
Not too much damage I hope Brendan
ReplyDeleteIs that a ferry? Wonder where it goes to.
ReplyDeleteLooks more like a cruise ship.
