Thanks Madeleine, it's too late now, I'm waiting for Steve's plane to land. I would have asked him to bring my mail if I had thought of it. It's not cold but there is a constant mist over the whole place, shame, Steve won't have a good view.
Sorry to rub it in, but we had 35º here yesterday. It was too hot for me to go outside even with the awning down until the early evening. There´s scorching weather all over Spain but today it´s back to more comfortable temperatures in this part of the country. Phew!
Just saw John O Groats on the map (very tip of Scotland mainland) and I remember all the times we would read about young couples eloping to get married there. Apparently they were allowed to marry without the usual formalities and restrictions (age limit maybe?) that prevailed at the time in England. Funny how it´s never mentioned any more.
Oh yes! You are right. (Where is Gretna Green btw?) I think John O Groats was the destination for the fund-raising marathon walks, cycles etc. or am I mistaken in that?
Alnwick (silent L, silent W). Impressive castle and town that I had never heard of. Alnwick castle. Home of Harry Hotspur, the famous knight (what? You've never heard of him?) Alnwick castle. Amble marina. Walworth castle in the distance.
Hi Brendan Did you want Steve to bring anything up? Warm socks. Vest? Is it cold up there?

ReplyDeleteDon't you mean Gretna Green?
